Last week Cheadle Area Committee approved a proposal by Councillor John Pantall calling on Pam Smith, the Council’s Chief Executive, to ensure a decision is made quickly about the future of the Orrishmere School site.
The school closed in the summer of 2015, following the opening of the new larger Oak Tree School. At first the empty School was reserved in case the Council obtained money for a new special needs school. This application was unsuccessful; the site was then reserved until April 2017 at the request of the (national) Department for Education in case they needed the site. Nothing however was forthcoming.
